I release the pump for €50, but it already stops at €48.44. How did that happen?

To prevent you from filling up with more than the pre-set amount, the pump uses a small safety margin. Often the pump stops a liter below the amount you have set. You pay the amount actually filled up, in this example €48.44. You can also see this under 'history' on the receipt.
